The Undoing of Evil in Halloween At 00:01 AM on October 29th, Lighthouse Missions
takes an initiative to change Halloween 2008 for parents and children.
We have three days to take back "All Saints Day". We can do this, while having a good time, but
education, creative thinking and effort are required.
The Plan: Realize the harm. Present an alternative. Spread the word.

Halloween: Celebration of Demons
from "There Be Demons Here"
Leonard Heatherly says, "We have unintentionally fellowshipped with demons too long. It is time for Believers to be educated
to the fact that Halloween is being used by Satan to establish entrances for the demonic." Here is an excerpt from
"There Be Demons Here":
"Realize how serious this is! America has gone from celebrating “All Saints Day” and the
Reformation to a holiday celebrating the demonic. - cooperating in and promoting evil."
"In the 8th century AD, a Pope declared November 1st as All Hallows Day (All Saints Day)
and the previous night became known as All Hallows Eve. Now we have Halloween a celebration
of demons. This came from the Celtic notion that Halloween was a night where spirits of the dead
were permitted to return to Earth to find a body to possess."
"From the ancient Druids came the Jack-O-Lantern, costumes and masks as symbols of a
damned soul. On the night of the Festival of Death they go from home to home demanding special
foods. If the people complied, they passed in silence; if their demands were not met, their
households were cursed with sickness, lack or death."
"Millions of American children and adults participate in Halloween and have made it big
business, spending more than $3 billion yearly on candy, costumes, pumpkins and decorations.
However, trick or treaters dressed in cute costumes are gullible targets for the entrance of evil

Have Fun Witnessing
Goodness Overcomes Evil
Boycotts and placards offend and even alienate
those who ignorantly open themselves to demonic playground of Halloween. The Scripture says that we overcome evil with good.
So, here's a non-offensive approach to witnessing that blends with the occasion.

"Woman at the Well"
Again this year, Halloween "trick or treaters" will meet, in costume, the woman at the well at the Heatherly home
in Rockwood, Tennessee. Evangelist Janie Heatherly, who has presented her unique testimony and teaching about the woman
at the well in traditional and house churches, expanded this role to fellow workers at the hospital where she is employed and to the children
at their door on Halloween.
Janie and Leonard Heatherly have for many years chose not to participate in honoring the demonic, but in recent years they are taking a
positive action. Again this year the tricksters will be treated with a bottle labeled "Living Water" celebrating All Saints Day and Martin Luther's
Reformation on the Eve of November 1st. Each of the children will also be given a scroll with the Scripture John 4:7-30
telling the story of the woman at the well.

Change Halloween in 3 Days
October 29th -31st
What can be accomplished in only 3 days? Jesus defeated all of hell in 3 days. Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total
darkness covered all Egypt for three days.
Jonah traveled to Nineveh in 3 days and brought repentance (without television or Internet)
to 120,000 in a city 3 days wide . Within the three days, all the men of Judah and Benjamin had gathered in Jerusalem to end the reign
of King Rehoboam.
We can "change" Halloween in 3 days.
Make a difference to how many in 3 days? Well, that depends upon how effectively we spread the word. Dozens, hundreds,
thousands, hundreds of thousands...
We need an army of spiritual warriors who will fight the good fight:

- We can impact our own community by converting traditional Halloween activities to a superb opportunity to witness. Do as Janie is doing,
or come up with other creative ideas.
- Perhaps the greatest impact would be to spread the news, "Change Halloween in 3 Days." through the Internet with E-mails, newsletters,
blogs, etc. Allow the creativity of the Holy Spirit flow through you, and fear not.
Join with us to change Halloween in 3 days and have great joy doing it! Remember that God works powerfully with a few strong warriors (Gideon's 300) so there will be no
mistaking His involvement. This brings God glory, and it protects us from mistakenly claiming the success ourselves.
